A New Cardi

I have a deep and abiding love for cardigans.  Here in Southern California, I really have no need for coats.  But, it does get chilly.  And, I'm menopausal.  And, if nothing else, I've learned from What Not to Wear that one needs a "completer" piece.  Most of the time, jackets are too hot (see above), which leaves me with a light sweater and too many feet of closet space devoted to my collection.
But, that didn't stop me from making one more this past week.  I had a nice piece of teal stretch knit from my last trip to the Fabric District that I knew would be perfect for this pattern.  Do you ever have one of those creative experiences where things just go right from start to finish?  This was one of them.
The pattern was quick to cut out, quick to sew, and fit just right.  I did alter the pattern, adding about 4" to the sleeves to make them 3/4 length and that was just right.  I will be making another one of these, perhaps the vest version.
And, I'm almost through my stash from my last trip to the Fabric District.  It's about time for another visit, I'm thinking.

I had planned on getting a photo of me wearing this, but completely forgot.  I was distracted by these lovely people:

But, you get the idea, don't you?

It's so cute! Good job! I've been so happy that winter is almost OVER here in Iowa, that it took me a while to realize that it is not necessarily going to be warm! I'm definitely in the cardigans, wraps, and removable layers market too.
