I'll start off with the little things first.
Books I read/am reading:
Born Round, audio book. It was fascinating to hear the author's struggles with his weight and body issues, thoughts that I wouldn't necessarily associate with men. They seem, in general, to be very unconcerned. However, the author is gay, so that might be the difference. Interesting nonetheless.
The Reason for God. Still working my way through this. Excellent.
The Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie. Fun read so far.
Master Your Metabolism. Stuff I already knew, repackaged. Eat real food; not too much. Exercise.
The Vintage Caper. Enjoyable. Read it on our trip to Virginia.
Eat This, Not That. It's more of a picture book, so I'm not sure I can say that I "read" it. Scary stuff, though.
Movies, Videos and the Like
We started The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe, but still need to finish.
Castle; still liking this series.
LOST! Yay!
Everybody's Fine. Watched this on the plane to Virginia. Liked it; good thoughts for parenting and the pressures we put on our kids.
Special Events:
Our 32nd Anniversary. Wow. God is SO very, very kind. We went out to dinner at The Cheesecake Factory, using a gift card. Delicious, but boy, were we FULL. We didn't eat all of those big portions, either.
A trip to Virginia!!! An ice cream birthday party for Faith and Violet! Great fun.
Another coaching session with Garry and Dorothy. We got promoted out of the DMV parking lot and out on to the street of suburban Oceanside. Great fun and how riding SHOULD be!
We exercised with Joey and Lourdes; Lourdes and I took a step class that just about wiped us both out!
I started spinning classes at the gym and found that I like them.
Health:
I tried too hard in 24SET and injured my knees by going too deep into squats. Going to Virginia and taking a week off from exercise has helped, but I'm icing them as I type this. :-(
Missions Accomplished:
I got my long-planned quilt top pieced. This month, I hope to get it to the quilter.
Birthday presents for Faith and Violet: two neck pillow animals, doll clothes, a bib, and a birthday crown.
A fun shopping trip to the fabric district and Michael Levine's Loft.
I embroidered 36 washcloths for a church project.
I am current on Project 365. This has been great fun and a good learning experience, too.
I am the team captain for the Donate Life Run/Walk on May 1st, for Team New Lungs. I got our team set up and a Facebook team page, too.
I made two little photo books for Faith and Violet to remember their birthday.
Projects in the Works/Ongoing Items:
Still hanging in there with Jan and our shared Weight Watchers journey. I'm down six pounds, on a good day!
We purchased our airline tickets for our cruise in September. I need to book hotels next.
The quilt; see above.
