So, in no particular order, here is a list of things, big and small, I'd like to accomplish in 2009:
Make the quilt for our bed. I have the main fabric, a lovely Hawaiian bark cloth, and the pattern, simple squares, set off-center. Still need to get the remaining fabrics and go through the decision-making process, which for me is sheer agony. What if I make a horrible mistake? What if it costs WAAAY too much? What if I go through all that work and hate it? These are the things that keep me up at night.
I'm going to concentrate on one book in each Testament, Isiah in the Old, the 1-3 John chapters in the New. I did accomplish my goal of last year to read through the entire Bible, but I felt it was a race sometimes. So, I'd like to linger a bit and these two sections of Scripture really caught my heart.
From last year's list: my photo albums. I am terribly behind, but part of that is due to my terrible indecision (see first item above). Things in the scrapbooking world are a' changin', and I am in a quandary as to whether or not do old-fashioned paper albums or the new, whiz-bang digital ones. From my days as a Creative Memories consultant I have oodles of supplies, but don't want to use them just to use them. I could sell them on eBay and go on to digital. I could do a combination of styles. Once again, my mind just won't stop.
I'd like to continue to improve my photography. I got a tripod and two new Bryan Peterson books for Christmas, and I've signed up for a digital scrapbooking/Photoshop Elements newsletter/training subscription.
I just got a call from my younger son, Brenden, and that reminded me of a few more items for this list: to make a trip to South Korea to visit him and our daughter-in-law and to get my motorcycle license.
We really need to have a garage sale; it's getting dangerous in both the attic and garage. And, really, do we we need all this stuff?!?!?
And, on a very personal level, I'd like to be more involved in discipling other women at our church. It's not that I think I have any special gifts, but I am convicted that we are commanded to do so, despite our limitations and shortcomings. Whether or not anyone wants to be discipled is another matter entirely.
I have a list of books I'd like to read, too, but perhaps I'll save that for my next posting. For now, I need to get the guest bed made up with the freshly washed sheets.

I really like the 1-3 John books; for some reason, the paternal tone in them is very comforting to me.
I'm thinking that digital is the way to go in scrapbooking. If nothing else, it's so easy to print multiple copies (or let someone else buy a copy). But, I've never been too crafty, so my opinion may not be appropriate.
So, then, if one goes digital, the next question is whether or not to keep one's scrapbook virtual or to print out the resulting pages. Which would require a 12x12 printer and probably a scanner for all those documents that I keep and add to my pages. See, what I mean?!?!?! More stuff to decide...
I looked for the link to the sign up sheet, but maybe it is already filled up. If it's not, please add my name to the list of women who desire to be discipled by you. (smile)
