2009, Follow-up

Well, I have started to make good on my goals-not-resolutions for 2009 by doing a few pages in my scrapbook, which I haven't updated since I scrapped our 2007 trip to London. Yikes.
Anyhoo, after pulling out just a limited amount of my supplies, I have come to the conclusion that, yes, digital is where I want to go.
Resons being:
Even though I have a fairly simple style of scrapping, I still need a counter's worth of stuff: photo trimmer, paper cutter, adhesive, the photos themselves, pens, embellishments, etc. Digital would be much less messy.
I have realized that I am MUCH more likely to journal if it doesn't require me to handwrite my stories.
I am not only more likely to journal, but I am more likely to be descriptive.
I really dislike having all those little paper scraps leftover! I hate to throw away a perfectly good piece of paper, so I have scraps galore. If I worked digitally, no more scraps, less trash.
I could resize my photos to fit perfectly, rather than having to crop and perhaps ruining my excellent composition (!).
I still like the hands-on aspect of scrapping; it's a nice right-brain activity that's very relaxing. So, perhps I could print out my pages with the photos and then add the ticket stubs, receipts, boarding passes, etc. that I tend to collect as part of the story.
So, I will begin in earnest to sell my supplies on eBay and with the proceeds buy a nice printer capable of 12x12 printing. I do think I will miss the lovely sheen of a professionally printed photograph, though.

I'm glad you are happy with your decision to go digital.
There is something nice about being able to touch souvenirs, though. It sounds like you have a good compromise.

I was curious as to what program you decided to use for Digital Scrapbooking? :D
