Then, a few days later, I was browsing the offerings at the Food Network. And, there it was, an episode of Good Eats on marshmallows. So, I recorded it, followed the directions, and wasn't I surprised! I can make marshmallows!
Making the sugar syrup (water, sugar, and corn syrup) and watching the temperature.
Pour the syrup, slowly and carefully, into the softened gelatin while the mixer is running.
Mixing on high for 15 minutes....
Almost there.....
Sticky, marshmallowy goodness....
Into the prepared pan, coated with powdered sugar and cornstarch..
Viola' Yumm....
