A new pair of shorts! That fit! Me!

Oh, I just love it when a project turns out just as I had hoped.
I bought this stretch cotton fabric in the remnant bin at JoAnn's for $3.48. I had the pattern already, Simplicity 4237. I like this type of waistband, as it holds in my meno-pot a bit. For the waistband lining, I used some left over fabric from a little outfit I had made for my grandson. And, once again, I played with the stitches on my machine and for the understitching, I used a cute little sun design rather than straight stitches. I am very pleased with these shorts. I should be so pleased with my hips....

While sewing contentedly, I listened to an audio book, a biography of C. S. Lewis. He was such a unique man. The author mentioned that Lewis used to go to chapel every morning. What a treat; to start your day with worship and communion. Perhaps in heaven?

Working with delight,
Barbara
