Busy, busy, busy...

So, this is to dispel all those rumors that I have become a "lady who lunches." Or something like that. An Oprah watching-bonbon eating stay-a-bed type of gal. Uh-uh, no siree. It's just that time of year, where if I post I will ruin someone's Christmas surprise.
So, here are few things that are safe.
The hat parade continues...
My dear friend, Irma, was present when my mother-in-law opened her birthday present and declared that she would like a hat, too, for her walks. Her husband, Mike, is a champ rose gardener, and I went with that theme. This will be for her Christmas. (She doesn't read this blog. I don't think. I hope not. If so, Merry Christmas, Irma!)
I am so happy with this; it's the most involved embroidery project I've ever done. It took hours. And, only a few oopsies.

Next are gloves for my daughter-in-law. I made these, again from Crochet Today, last summer, when she and my son were still in the Republic of Georgia. I pictured her using them this winter in her barely-heated classroom, so her frozen fingers could write, bend, etc. Well, they are no longer in Georgia, but South Korea, and turns out, it's cold there, too. These were her birthday present.

Lastly, these are mittens and socks for Violet. It gets very, very cold in Virginia, especially in an old, drafty house. Where she won't be wearing the mittens, obviously, but the socks might keep her tootsies warm. These weren't a Christmas present, just a "because."
