A Little Needle Book

I have never been much for hand-sewing, so I have never seen the need for a needle book. Although, I have often thought that they were just so very lovely. Then recently, I was listening to a podcast, Material Mama, I think, and she mentioned a use for a needle book that got me wanting one.
Often, I need to change needles in my sewing machine for a different project, but don't need to dispose of the old needle. For example, I might need a denim needle to quickly mend a pair of jeans. A needle book is a perfect place to keep that denim needle until I need it again.
I could just put it back in the original case, but there are two reasons not to. First, I'd like to know which needles are a bit used. And, I just have trouble reading the minuscule size numbers on the shank. Really, it's exasperating. Don't the manufacturers know that old women sew?!?
So, I got busy with some embossed felt that I had left over from another project (hum.. another post there..), a bit of heavy interfacing, some metallic thread, and a big button. About 30 minutes later, I had this lovely and useful little book. I still need to indicate needle sizes on the pages and haven't decided whether to make labels, hand write or stamp.
Working with delight,
Barbara

I keep misplacing my needles. I think I need to copy you and make a needly book for myself!
