Oh, dear, what have I done?!?!?

I am a bundle of mixed emotions: excitement, intimidation, fear, anticipation, hope...

I got my M1 a while ago, having only ridden on a dirt bike in my early teens or a 250cc at the safety course.
My hubby and I have had a differing of the minds, therefore, on what bike I should get.
I wanted a wee little thing that I could easily boss around. One that allowed my feet to touch the ground. Non-intimidating. Easy to pick up, based on my past experience.
He, however, loving me and not wanting me to get run over on the SoCal freeway, wanted something with a bit more power.
So, I prayed about it, trying to trust his wisdom and asking for a suitable bike just to "happen" upon our path.
Which apparently happened this past week. Hubby saw this bike out on the curb with a "For Sale" sign on.
I drove by and, sure enough, it was close enough to the ground to fit my stature. The price was right. But, it was just too pretty. I had also wanted a pre-dented and already scratched bike, to just take the pressure off. It also was quite a bit bigger than I was hoping, being an 800cc and a couple of hundred pounds more than I can easily pick up. But...
So, that's how we found ourselves on Saturday morning, talking with Georgia and Dick. Georgia is 68, having learned to ride on this bike 11 years ago. Just a scared as me. Perhaps more, as it took her weeks to get it out of the garage. This bike has a bunch of miles on it, having been ridden across the country, to Washington, Montana, Nevada, and more. She's never dropped it. I got that out of my system the first time around the parking lot!
I also have a Jesus decal on the back, one of those plastic fish, but the tail has come off. I refuse to put bumper stickers on my car, but I thought this just might be a sign! Georgia told me that I can't take it off.
Despite the high miles, Dick has obviously taken care of this lovely bike. The chrome is beautifully shiny, the paint bright, and I couldn't see a speck of dirt. My hubby has already had several compliments just going back and forth to the gas station, the parking lot, and the hardware store!
So, I will nurse my wounds and keep at it. Pray for me, please!

That is so fun! Wow . . . what gorgeous photos. Love all the narration, thanks. You'll be zippin' around in no time - just sure of it.

She's beautiful! I was wondering about the story behind the bike, but kept forgetting to ask. Nice!
