A Sweater for Violet

There's nothing like six straight days of reserve, followed by a misguided pass-travel-in-the-summer trip to zap all the creativity right out of a person. But, I am recovered and have a finished project!

I have been working on this little sweater for my granddaughter for a while now. It was very easy to crochet; I was just not diligent to pick it up as often as I should have. Once I got moving, it went very quickly. I used a pattern from Crochet Today, my favorite crochet magazine. The yarn was a surprise gift from my sister-in-law in Germany. It's a lovely soft cotton. The pattern had no closure, so I added a button. I'm really happy with how it turned out.

My next project is for my grandson. It is from Candy Tots. Once again, the yarn is from Germany, but this I bought while we were on vacation last year. I like the colors, very boyish, but I think they make the pattern hard to see. Nevertheless, I am liking this project, too.

I am back on reserve for four days, starting with airport standby tonight. Perhaps I can get a few more rows done, if I don't get sent out.

Working with delight,
Barbara

How cute!
Violet's sweater is so sweet. Thank you! And I really like the sweater vest. The yarn you chose has a nice repeat--it may obscure the stitches a little, but it looks like you're creating another color pattern. I can't wait to see a photo of the little guy wearing it.
